In My World Today: Birthday Celebration

These photos represent how I feel about my husband’s birthday this week. Filled with sweetness, joy, fun times, a true celebration of the existence of a being who is not just my husband, and a real MAN, but my best friend and life partner.  I feel so blessed and grateful DAILY, to experience and continue to CREATE our life TOGETHER as a team. He is the ultimate sweetest man EVER. That’s why I don’t crave sweets cause I have him in my life every day!

Sugar talk: Well, and also I don’t eat refined sugar (because I know what it does to the human body and I love my cells too much to hurt them (Self-love and consciousness), and just for disclaimer purposes, I do not put out refined sugary anythings at my parties or daily culinary adventures I create for my family and friends (unless its macrobiotic, vegan, and delicious or for beautiful photoshoot/art purposes.) Photography is art, and art inspires, evokes a feeling inside that can give endless amount of FEEL GOoD results over and over. The results of actual eating sugar…not so inspiring: aging, loosing elasticity on your skin, acidity which promotes disease, diabetes, cellular damage… I can go on.. What I LOVE about photography is COLOR, TEXTURE, BEAUTY, COMPOSITION, and most of all, how all these together make you feel.

Back to my husband: Its not just today that is a celebration of his existence… I celebrate EVERYDAY, we celebrate and are grateful daily for our life together. Honey you are such a noble, wise, smart, funny, insightful, creative, sexy, adorable, considerate, protective, affectionate, ethical, pure soul and you make me feel: Inspired, empowered…. our life is our canvas and that’s my favorite piece of art.

My husband is also an amazing DP and Photographer, and we both appreciate, share, and enjoy making art that inspires us.  I’m a fan. HAPPY BIRTHDAY LOVE!!!

P.S. I know what my sister Maryl is thinking as she reads this. “What? You do eat desserts!” Ok here is my list of desserts I do have when I want: coconut chocolate mouse from Cafe Gratitude (organic, vegan, raw and sweetened with dates),  chocolate/vanilla swirl from Kind Kreme (organic, almond milk based, vegan, gourmet, sweetened with RAW honey which I do use at home) , Equal Exchange 80% dark chocolate from panama (fair trade, vegan, organic, sweetened with organic raw cane sugar) and from time to time I make zucchini, gluten free muffins that I sweetened with apple sauce/juice that I make at home. I mostly crave salads and quinoa pasta …. And yes, we will have some healthy sweets section in our upcoming  nutrition/cookbook.

Episode 8: Love Is a State of Being

Love is a universal, intangible force that every human being on this planet is capable of experiencing. There is a very big confusion, what we here at Silvie+Maryl call an “old program” that society has created, that being in the energy of love automatically means being in a relationship. In this episode we recycle that concept with a mind upgrade that will free you from that outdated and potentially harmful idea. Read More…

Episode 1 – What is Health?

This is your first official mind upgrade bit. You may be thinking, “what is a mind upgrade, anyway?” In this episode, we explain exactly that and provide a more complete definition of what health is all about. We felt it was fundamental to understand both concepts because, in order to create health in our lives, we must first understand all that it encompasses and what it takes to achieve it. We touch on functional versus optimal, fragmented versus holistic, and normal versus natural. Get acquainted with these ideas and begin to shift your mind in a healthier direction. Read More…

The New Ideal Mate List

If you’re single and looking, you have a list. Maybe it’s not written, or even long, but you have soulmate ‘musts and wishes’ – at least in your mind. If you’re a woman, these usually include, “a sense of humor,” or “a good career,” or like a friend of mine who never forgot what her mom told her, “tall with a full set of hair. Think of your children.” If you’re a man, the list may include, “great legs,” or “likes basketball,” and maybe even, “makes lasagna like my mom.”

Unfortunately, The List is typically a very mental thing. Career, personality, hair, body, food – all the usual suspects are there. But when it comes to love,  all of these activities, vocation, and looks won’t count as much as something else: feelings. Read More…

Take the Pressure Off of V-Day

Everything in life is based on the way we think. Society and the media bombard us with the idea of Valentine’s Day being the ultimate day for romance with the staple chocolates and flowers, but we have decided to change that perspective today. From here on, WE CHOOSE to see February 14th as LOVE DAY. You see, love is universal – it’s for everyone, not just for couples – and it can be given at any moment, and expressed in so many more meaningful ways than what society may have led us to believe. The new focus is to celebrate love and give love to whomever you want, including yourself. You deserve it. Read More…
